Is it legal?

Yes

Who can buy a firearm online?

For handguns, you must be 21 or older and for rifles and shotguns, you must be 18 or older. You must be a U.S. citizen or have other legal status. You must also be able to pass the federally mandated background check conducted by the FBI thru NICS.

Can I have the firearm shipped directly to me?

No, the firearm can only be shipped to a Federal Firearms Licensee holder (FFL) in your area where you will receive it.

How do I find an FFL in my area for receiving the firearm from the seller?

Most local gun dealers, shooting ranges, or pawn shops have an FFL and will accept the firearms transfer. If you cannot find an FFL in your area, please call us and we will assist you in finding one for you to contact.

What information do I need from the FFL that will be receiving my firearm?

You will need the following information:

  1. How much do they charge. Typical fees are between $20 to $40. Payment of the fee is your responsibility?
  2. Their contact information (Name, phone & fax numbers, and email address)
  3. Hours of operation.

How does the firearm transfer work?

Once you have made contact with the FFL and got their information, you will pass that information to us and let them know that we will be contacting them.

We will contact the FFL that you have selected and ask them to provide us a copy of their license. Once we have received a copy of their license and verified that it is a valid license with the ATF, we will ship your firearm to that FFL. We will notify you when it has shipped with the tracking number of the shipment. We will notify you when the shipper has verified that the FFL has taken delivery. Firearms are normally shipped via 2-day Federal Express or UPS.

Once the FFL has received the firearm, you can arrange with them for a time to pick-up the firearm.

Can someone other than you pick-up the firearm from the FFL?

No. As part of the shipment, we notify the receiving FFL of the purchaser’s name. They will not transfer the firearm to any other person.

When do I complete the background check?

The receiving FFL will have you complete the ATF Firearm Transfer Form Application and run your application thru the NICS database. If the background check is approved, they will transfer the firearm to you.

What if the background check results come back as Delayed?

The FFL is prohibited from transferring the firearm to you for up to 3 business days. If the FFL has not heard back from ATF by the end of the 3rd business day, they are allowed to transfer the firearm to you on the 4th day.

What if I do not pass the background check?

If your background check comes back Denied, the FFL is prohibited from transferring the firearm to you. If that happens, we request that the FFL immediately return the firearm to us. After deducting shipping costs and a restocking fee, we will refund the rest of your payment.

What if I decide that I no longer want the firearm and do not have the FFL transfer the firearm to me?

In that case, the FFL will return the firearm to us and we will issue you a credit for the amount you paid minus shipping costs and a restocking fee.

Can I return the firearm after I take delivery?

Once you have accepted delivery of the firearm, it is considered your property and cannot be returned to us for refunds. It is your responsibility to inspect the firearm prior to taking delivery to make sure that it is the firearm that you expected. You should carefully inspect the fiream prior to completing the Transfer Form Application. If it is not as you expected, DO NOT take delivery from the FFL and call us.
